Hope’s Wish

Her face was framed by lustrous hair,

Deep, dark eyes beheld a woeful stare.

Her thin lips were gatekeepers to a rich, husky voice

And her smile betrayed a Life full of Choice.

Sometime Love had, she thought, passed her by

But Hope had not, though her love did oft lie.

And still it sprang eternal despite her woe

A carefully nurtured seed, which no matter the season, she had to sow.

The joy of living was in her veins

And Hope saw her through the sleet and rains…

He finally granted her one true wish

And she sealed it with a Lover’s kiss.
